Traditional villages

Description

Pyrgos, Emporio and Megalochori are villages for those who would like to admire a more traditional aspect of Santorini.

Pyrgos is situated in the centre of the island and on its highest part. The Kasteli (castle) of Pyrgos is a place where people used to hide and protect themselves in the past. Nowadays there are many restaurants, cafes and shops scattered in its picturesque paths.

Emporio is the least touristic village of Santorini with only a few hotels. A visitor of Emporio may have a hint on how locals live. The Kasteli(castle) of Emporio is the perfect place for a tranquil evening walk far from the hustle of the island.

Megalochori is a small village of raw beauty. Its cobblestone paths and old renovated buildings will give you a hint of the old Santorini. However, in Megalochori there are some of the most famous hotels and restaurants of the island, making it a combination of traditional and modern Santorini.
