Santorini Lost Atlantis Interactive Museum, 9D experience

Description

Santorini Lost  Atlantis  Museum.

Atlantis is one of the most well-known cities of Mythology all over the world. According to the renowned Greek philosopher, Plato, Atlantis was a civilization of extremely powerful and possibly god descending people who lived on a small fertile island. There have been plenty of theories as to where was Atlantis possibly located, with the island of Thera (Santorini) being the most prominent.

Being the first-ever museum about Lost Atlantis, it gives visitors the opportunity to travel through Greece’s history, mythology, geology and philosophy. During your visit, you will have the chance to discuss with a hologram of Plato, learn details about what inspired him into creating his myth as well as the history of Santorini and Atlantis. You will also have the unique opportunity to experience the alleged destruction of Atlantis due to the eruption of Santorini’s volcano and all the natural phenomena that followed it with the use of 9D technology. The museum also has the largest existing diorama of Atlantis which will shed light to the majesty of this long-lost civilization.

You can find the Museum at Megalochori village, on the main road to Emporio and Perissa, in a brand-new facility of 700 sq. meters, with private parking facilities. Taking photos and filming is allowed in all areas except for the 9D experience. All areas of the Museum can be accessed by wheelchair and there are toilets for people with disabilities.
