MANSION
WINE MAKER
 MANSION  WINE MAKER

Built in 1895, the traditional complex greets the visitors, who may admire the whole process of wine production, from the grape harvest and methods of wine making to the storage of wine in large, old, oak barrels. The interest is also attracted by the representation of distillation and production of tsikoudia, "raki", known for its strong taste.

Other traditional areas are presented separately, such as the production of tomato paste, a basic Santorini product, and certainly the processing of the famous, highly praised in Greece "fava" of Santorini.

The representation of the "old mansion and farm house" with authentic furniture constitutes also an important and integral part of the museum. Special moments of rural lifestyle are presented, such as the countrywoman loaded with firewood on her back and pulling her goat, the peasant girl knitting the wool with her wooden "roka", (bobbin), and the transportation of agricultural products with the help of a donkey.

Traditional professionals of the past, like "pocharis", the bird-catcher with his landing-net, "apochi" ,and the traditional fiddlers, essential at every special occasion, will attract the attention of all our visitors.
