Santorini Thirasia island |
Thirasia is what remained from west coast of Santorini after the Minoan eruption in 1650 B.C.
Thirasia and Aspronisi together form the ancient circular shape of Santorini.
Thirasia has 250 inhabitants and there are 3 settlements, Manolas and Potamos and 2 ports, Korfos and Riva.
With 21 churches and chapels and with its magnificent architecture, Thirasia and its people have preserved the traditional Cycladic style and have not been affected by the tourism at all.
You can reach it if you join the boat trips available or by ferry boat/traditional wooden boat from Athinios and Ammoudi (Oia). |
