 Messaria has a Cycladic charm with its outstanding architecture. It is surrounded by gardens and vineyards. One of the most impressive sites in the village is the Argiros mansion, built in 1888 by winemaker George E. Argiros, and juxt recently restored. After the earthquake of 1956, the owner's grandson, used his own funds to restor the mansion, including the furniture inside.
The churches of Metamorphosis of Sotiros nad Ag. Irini, both build between 1680 and 1700, are worth visiting also, as is the Metropolis church. Take a pleasant stroll among the shops and taste the good food and entertainment in the numerous quaint taverns.
