Megalochori is a village of Santorini, situated 9 Km away from Fira, in the south-western part of the island. Tracing its roots to the 17th century and and with 461 inhabitants (2001), Megalochori is considered to be one of the most picturesque villages of Santorini.
Also, remainings of prehistoric settlements of the Pre-cycladic and Later Cycladic Period have been discovered in Megalochori.
