Aegean Speed Lines was established in 2005 in Glyfada, Athens. Its first vessel was a foreign catamaran which was used to link Piraeus to Western Cyclades and Paros. In 2006, Paros was excluded from the schedule and in 2007, along with the Wetsern Cyclades, the company vessel also traveled to Folegandros. Today, Aegean Speed Lines and its vessel "Speedrunner II", serves the islands of Kythnos, Serifos, Sifnos, Milos, Kimolos and Folegandros.
The social service that the company provides to society is important, as these small islands remain almost remote in winter, so they need a frequent and reliable ship to connect them to each other or the capital of Greece. Also, through a good transportation, summer tourism on the islands, an important source of income for the inhabitants, is increased and the quality of life gets improved.
Aegean Speed Lines Fleet and Onboard Facilities :
Aegean Speed Lines offer a choice of Business and Economy Class seating, and a range of coffee and snack bars.
Other onboard services include a souvenir and gift shop, air conditioned lounge areas, televisions, smoking areas, outside seating areas, Wireless internet connection and disabled access throughout.
› Policy :
1. Tickets
- Tickets are personal, nominal and cannot be transferred to anyone else. They are valid only for the class and the trip they have been issued for.
- Children up to 4 years old do not pay a ticket fare. Children from 5 to 10years old pay half of the ticket.
- If a ticket is lost, then it is not refunded or replaced.
- If a ticket is cancelled, the passenger is entitled to half the price of the ticket.
- If the ship has sailed, then the passenger is not entitled to any refund.
- The ticket does not include catering costs on board.
2. Delay or cancellation of the trip
- The Company has no responsibility if a trip is delayed due to orders of the Ministry of the Merchant Marine and the Port Authorities, bad weather conditions or force majeure.
- If a trip is cancelled by the company, then the passenger is entitled to full refund. The company has no other obligation towards the passenger.
- The company can replace the trip vessel, after approval of the Ministry of Merchant Marine.
3. On board
- Passengers and vehicles should be at the port at least an hour before embarkation.
- The company has no responsibility for any accident or damage of the vehicle on embarkation/ disembarkation or during the trip.
- The passengers are not allowed to be in their car during the trip. They are also forbidden to enter the garage, so they must carry their personal items with them.
- While on board, passengers must comply with the orders and instructions of the Port Authorities, the Ministry of Merchant Marine, the captain and the crew.
